I have a passion for all things education! Before adding homeschooling four boys to my resume, I was an elementary school teacher and reading specialist in Northern Virginia for over 2 decades. I have a master's degree in education from Regent University and a Reading Specialist Endorsement from George Mason University. I love to read and research about all things homeschooling and education. My philosophy of education includes fostering a love of learning, believing that all students can succeed, and making learning an adventure! I am the founder of Greenhouse Enrichment, and I hope you join us on a learning adventure this year!
Kids and education have always been “my thing”, so imagine my delight when the opportunity came about to transition into a leadership role at Greenhouse and be able to incorporate my existing Core co-op! My dual bachelor's degree in early childhood education & special education as well as master’s degree in special education were both received from Valdosta State University. After college, I spent 10 years as a public-school teacher, 3 years as an online teacher, and the past 5 years learning alongside my children at home and within homeschool co-ops. So, here I am! I am ready to run with Greenhouse and make things happen!
I am a homeschool mom of 2 with a passion for making learning fun! Greenhouse has been a blessing to my family, and I am excited to join the leadership team! I have a Business Management degree from the University of West Georgia, but my dream was always to teach. I am thankful for this opportunity to be a part of Greenhouse and to watch the program grow! Can’t wait to see you there!
I am very excited to teach at The
Greenhouse. I have a bachelor’s degree in Special Education. I have been working with children for over 20 years in different learning
environments and various roles. I have always had a passion working with children, especially ones with different learning styles. I enjoy recognizing children’s ability to develop and implement activities that improve students’ learning and behavioral skills, as well as confidence and self-reliance. I ensure open communication with parents regarding students’ growth and well-being. I am a passionate and empowered teacher who will love teaching your child.
This verse has helped me all throughout my life and still holds true for me today.
Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."
I am a part time artist and full time homeschool mom of two! I have been working with children in ministry and in education for over 17 years, and it brings me so much joy. I firmly believe in using your gifts to bring glory to the Lord. I am beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to help young students learn to use their God given talent to glorify Him. My favorite art forms are watercolors, hand lettering, graphic design, and photography. I can't wait to help each student find their own unique style and help them grow their artistic ability!
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord" Colossians 3:23
I have been an avid outdoors woman since I was little child. During my childhood I learned about fishing, hunting, outdoor skills and gardening which lead me to an adult life of choosing to be a professional gardener. I am in my 15th year of Master Gardening. I have designed and maintained gardens throughout Atlanta and even created The Secret Garden for an outdoor theater company. I have many years of volunteering building food gardens and Learning gardens throughout Fulton County. I’ve lived in Chattahoochee Hills for 10 years and during that time I have taught free nature and gardening classes at my homestead. I became a mother in 2010 to my son, Alexander. I have been actively involved in his education since pre-K when I became a nature teacher at a Montessori school. I have a true passion for connecting children to nature and supporting their development. Thank you for allowing me to share my enthusiasm for nature and sharing it with your children.
An awe for God’s beautiful creation led me in 2010 to pursue an Environmental Management degree at Cal Poly State in San Luis Obispo, CA. My family relocated to Georgia in 2018, and, after driving back and forth in a frenzy from private pre-k for a season, the Holy Spirit tugged on my heart to continue pursuing my original curiosity and love of learning… but now together as a family through homeschooling! I am so glad that I made that change, and I have never looked back. I have 3 boys and I have especially enjoyed watching those “aha” moments when my boys learned to read, write, and build their confidence. I taught a gardening class at my co-op and found how much I loved teaching. I joined Greenhouse in 2022 and have built great relationships with the kids. I am excited to teach 1st/2nd! One of my goals is to support the parents in their homeschool efforts.
This year we will be having fun and building confidence through drawing, sharing our hard work and discussing how things relate to the Bible. I am ready to dig into the amazing stories and teachings in the Five in a Row curriculum. I can’t wait for you to join me!
“There are certain things in which mediocrity is not to be endured, such as poetry, music, painting and public speaking.” - Jean de la Bruyere This is the philosophy that led me to teach public speaking and communication strategies to students for over twelve years. With a Master’s degree in English Literature, a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics, I have taught learners from various cultures, across all age groups and learning styles. I am a pastor’s wife and mother of two beautiful girls of whom, one is a miracle child who is deaf and ASL-first and the other is a homeschooled, blossoming public speaker who just won the Best Speaker Award in over 39 counties. I serve along side my husband Patrick at Coweta Community Church where he is an associate pastor. It will be my joy and honor to work with your children this year.
I am a homeschooling mom to four awesome kids, ages 13-6. I was blessed to be homeschooled my whole childhood. This experience ignited a passion for learning in me that I endeavor to pass on to all the children I am blessed to teach. I was even more fortunate to have been taught IEW during my high school years. This wonderful program ignited in me a joy for writing and a fervor for the English language that I didn’t know I had. In teaching IEW to my own children, and several other families over the last few years, I have been overjoyed to see writing come to life for all of them. I am so thankful for the opportunity to teach writing to your amazing kids this school year and I pray that together we can make writing fun and exciting.
I developed a passion for teaching after assisting a Sunday school class at the age of twelve. From that moment on, I knew what I was called to do. I graduated from West Central Technical College in 2002 with my CDA and continued my education at the State University of West Georgia. Through my highschool and college years, I worked in childcare until becoming the lead teacher at an early education center. After ten years, I left my teaching position behind to stay home with my children and begin our homeschooling journey. I have been homeschooling for 7 years. I have four beautiful children and a homestead which we run together--learning something new everyday! I am so excited to join the team and I can't wait to watch your children grow as they learn new concepts in home economics and consumer science this year!
I have been homeschooling my wonderful daughters, Katie and Becca, for 9 years. During that time, I have worn many different hats in other homeschool co-ops including teaching, assisting, directing, and field trip coordinator. When my youngest daughter, Becca, discovered a love of performing a few years ago, I began volunteering to help with those productions. I have assisted with sets, costumes, and worked with my daughter on learning lines and stage presence. I am excited to share my love of the theatre with your children as we explore the many different aspects of Drama.
